Playlist November
Work, work, work. Sorry for the brief words. This month you can find Natty's acoustic version of bedroom eyes, the alpines and of course beautiful Florence & the Machine with shake it out on the playlist. Also came across the band called 'Paris Wells', who are actually from Australia. The cinematic music video is definitely worth watching if you adore french chic just like me. Well and I don't think I have to say much about wise blood's loud mouths. This track is just absolutely amazing. If you wanna hear more of him check this blog out, he posted two other music videos.
The Machine neues Lied shake it out. Eins meiner favs momentan.

Playlist October
This months playlist is a mix of Ed Sheeran casually throwing shoes in Rizzle Kicks video, Beyonce looking absolutely stunning (especially the last 2 seconds) and fabolous Björk. I seem to develop a little obsession for Björk lately but I just cant help it. I could absolutely lose myself in this video.

record shop
Black panther t-shirt by Weekday. Collar by Urban Outfitters. |
This morning I had the chance to assist at a photoshoot in a record shop and I absolutely loved the location. I could spend hours looking through vinyls as every cover is so inspirational and got a different story behind it. Living in a fast pacing world of mp3s and youtube I'm definitely missing the art around the music sometimes.

Playlist September
This summer is nearly over and I'm gonna go back to England for uni very soon. I defintely missed some wobbly tunes when I was out here and that kind of explains why this months playlist is includes some bass heavy songs. Fake Blood is back with some new tunes, Bon Iver & James Blake created a genius song and two inch punchs song love you up is on repeat! Enjoy!

Top 10 Playlist July
This month I will listen to summery and relaxing tunes from bands such as Nouvelle Vague, Rye Rye, Friendly Fires, Jamie XX and much more. Also I was very happy to hear Björk's new song Crystalline- drum beats, bells and a great ending. A very freaky but also inspiring music video comes from Sola Rosa feat. Bajka-Humanised. You gotta watch this.

Tonight The Pierces at Rescue Rooms Nottingham
EXCITED! Tonight I have finally the chance to see my favourite band The Pierces live! They are touring through UK at the moment to promote their new album You & I, which is much more melancholic than their album before. Enjoy.

Top 11 May Playlist
After all these ridiculous free days I felt the urge to put not 10 but 11 great tunes on the May playlist. This time I included songs from Bon Iver - Skinny love (this version is a million times better than the one from Birdie!), Frankie & The heartstrings- That postcard (looove the video) and some other songs such as Chrystals- Fixers, which make me wanna dance in the bright sun. Oh and of course I had to include Chase & Status new masterpiece "time" feat. Deliliah. I'm impressed that they use a critical topic such as abuse against women in their music and raise awareness. The video is brilliant.

Lykke Li. Hamburg.
This woman is just amazing. Lykke Li hypnotized the crowd in Hamburg with her beautiful voice, showed us how to dance to "Get some" and seduced with her unusual dance moves. She is one of the rare artists who actually feels and means what she sings. Here are three of many videos I would like to share with you.
One of my new discoveries. Every time again I'm surprised what I can find between my mums old clothes. |

Top 10 April Playlist
Finally, I managed to create the SoapiUk Top 10 Playlist for april. Due to a lot of course work and rainy days I decided to choose rather relaxing songs for this month. I guess I won't find much time to go out anyways. My new favourite band is definitely Singtank. It's a french indie-pop band, formed by inspiring & beautiful model-actress Joséphine de la Baume and her younger brother Alexandre. She writes the lyrics and he plays the music. Trés formidable!

Lykke Li's & Jessie J.'s albums out now!
When I woke up this morning with Lykke Li's song "Get some" in my head, my subconsciousness probably tried to remind me of her album release. Wounded Rhymes is out today - and its freakishly amazing!
Listen to it here.
Also out now: Jessie J.'s new album "Who You Are". Unfortunately poppier than I thought it would be and rather disappointing. Still, I love her soulful acoustic versions.

I'm back from Leeds...
...and loved it there! Leeds is a beautiful city with a good choice of vintage stores & HURTS gig was just amazing!
I loved Leeds especially for the Corn Exchange (check Mad Elisabeth Vintage for pretty blouses and cheap vintage suitcases) and the Victorian Quarter (Mulberrys window display made me very happy). Also highly recommended: The Leeds Market. It provided me with cheap lace ribbon, a tassel and seam cutter for customising old boring stuff.
If you go to Leeds and love Thai food go to Thai Edge and enjoy an authentic meal. I stuck to my favourites Satay Gai & Thai Green Curry and it made me feel like being back home in Thailand! Before the concert me and my boyfriend ended up going to the Leeds equivalent to Nottingham's Spanky Van Dykes. It is called "Nation of Shopkeepers" and is the hipster-place-to-be. Their courtyard is just amazing (especially because of the heated sofas) and the music they've played as well (If you don't know: the Cold War Kids, CLICK!)
The HURTS concert was amazing. Hurts is an incredibly good live band and I would go and see them live every time again! They played their whole album and had some pretty rocky party in it surprisingly. I loved Theo Hutchcraft's little cape when he got on stage but I think he should wear less tight trousers next time. I guess he doesn't care much about it. His girlfriend is Miss Germany (who is also a Playmate) so it's probably alright to show off what he got.
Hurts support artist were pretty awesome as well and one of them might be the next big thing soon! Check out Saint Saviour and Clare Macguire here. Both were very impressive on stage. Saint Saviour reminds me a bit of a mix between Lykke Li and the Knife, just with better dancing moves and Clare Macguire looked stunning. Definitely bands to watch.
