Autumn Trends: Tory Burch Campaign A/W 14

The moment I spotted Tory Burch's A/W14 campaign at the tube stop I got excited for the golden autumn to start. Its autumnal colours, detailed prints, brocade and countryside setting - I love all about it! Unfortunately the golden autumn has now turned into a much grayer and rainier version than expected. Luckily Tory Burch's campaign shots and video are so beautiful that they will easily take you away from the miserable weather. 

Check out the campaign video below, it really brings the designs to live and is so enchanting to watch. In the designs the 1970's are dominant, taking a strong presence in the prints and fur collars. The rich red hues work so well along side the muted green and brown shades - it makes me want to buy a whole new bunch of clothes in this colour palette! And how gorgeous are the over knee boots? 

Outfit Post: A Sunday in Pimlico

Last Sunday, London was a glorious place to be. The sun was shining and it got warm enough so I could finally wear the summery jumpsuit I got from Dorothy Perkins a while ago. At the moment I feel drawn towards anything with palm leaf prints and this jumpsuit is no exception! Even though some jumpsuits can feel a bit limiting and difficult to wear, this one is super comfortable. As I learnt not too trust the English weather I wore my denim jacket with the jumpsuit as well as my tan flatforms (Office Shoes) and one of my favourite vintage bags (which used to be my Mum's).
We spent that morning at the car boot in Pimlico, looking for bits and bobs for our new flat. Even though we didn't buy anything special, it was still nice to have a browse. Capital Car Boot in Pimlico is a quite big one, so definitely have a look if you're around. You never know what you might find! After rummaging through stuff, we went to a small café called Pimlico Village just outside the tube station. It was actually quite late by then but we still decided to have an English breakfast and it was delicious!

Since my sister showed me the brand, I have been nothing else than wishing I could have at least one pair of their amazingly beautiful, shiny, perfect shoes! Miista focuses on unique designs and was founded by LCF graduate Laura Villasenin. Miista shoes are available on the brand's website as well as on other online shops such as ASOS (look out for their sale!).

Dreaming about holidays #GiveGregTheHoliday

Today was one of the funniest days at work ever. First everyone and I mean everyone received Greg's holiday request (which was sent out to the whole of Arcadia by accident). Then hundreds of hilarious emails by staff followed, making the whole of Arcadia's HQ laugh. Within a short time #GiveGregTheHoliday was trending on Twitter, banning the #elections from numero one! Long story short - thanks to Twitter he got a free trip to Vegas and loads of freebies by some other brands within hours. Greg however was nowhere to be seen as he works night shifts and was likely to be asleep when all this happened. What amazing news to wake up to though!

All the talks and tweets about Greg's holiday made me dream about days off work and white sand beaches. With the rain clouds returning to London I can't help but think more and more about my planned trip to Thailand. Not that it is any time soon...but I'm already so excited for my sister's wedding at the beach and trips around the beautiful islands in the south. For the ultimate beach holiday a bunch of amazing bikinis and swimsuits are needed. Two of my favourites on the high street are from Reiss at the moment. Both designs really stand out from other swimwear because of their straps! The Bikini on the left features a gorgeous jungle prints, which would look beautiful on tanned skin. The red swimsuit on the right is incredible as well and really stands out because of its unique design at the back and its bright colour.

La Métamorphose, Une Histoire Hermès

With a tea on my right I have finally overcome my laziness to post something new on my blog! I really do admire all these amazing people who manage to have a normal working life whilst updating their blog regularly. My new ambition is to blog more often again to keep collecting things I find inspiring and share it with you guys. Living in London and working in fashion is very very inspiring, however it is so fast-paced that I feel one thought gets missing after another. This blog was always my little collection of things I found inspiring so I really want to keep this going to look back at it.

One of the things I want to share is Hermès beautiful new S/S14 campaign La Métamorphose, which was shot Hans Sivester. I came across it a few days ago, but I couldn't stop thinking about it. The campaign images reflect perfectly on the collections' jungle charm and make me dream about holidays in exotic countries. The lighting as well as the shimmery green and blue tones let the beautiful, vivid prints glow. Overall the campaign has something quite mysterious, if not surreal, about it.

Mit einem Englischen Tee an meiner Seite, finde ich nun endlich die Motivation mal wieder zu bloggen. Ich bewundere wie so viele Leute es schaffen ganz normal zu arbeiten und trotzdem oft zu bloggen. Viel zu oft denke ich mir "Oh darüber muss ich unbedingt später bloggen" - doch leider kommt es oft doch nicht dazu. In London zu leben und arbeiten ist sehr inspirierend. Da es allerdings sehr hektisch ist, kommt es mir vor als würde ein kreativer Gedanke im anderen verloren gehen. Dieser Blog war immer meine kleine Sammlung an Dingen die mich inspirieren und so soll es auch weiterhin sein! 

Eine der Kampagnen die für mich in dieser S/S14 Saison herausstechen ist die von Hermès. La Métamorphose, fotografiert von Hans Silvester, ist einfach nur traumhaft schön. Das Licht, sowie die Blau- und Grüntöne lassen die kräftigen Prints richtig strahlen. Die Models sowie der Regenwald haben etwas mysteriöses an sich. Es scheint fast so als sei ein ruhiger, unberührter Ort wie der exotische Regenwald etwas surreales. 

glittery times

As you can see in my little inspiration mood board - the festive spirit has taken over already! The next month will be a busy one. So so many christmas parties, come togethers, reunions and new year celebrations lie ahead of us and I feel drawn towards everything sparkly. Especially sparkly make-up in rich gold, green and silver hues inspire me to get the paint brush out! Topshop provides us with everything that glitters for the nails (1:Nail in Pluto) and their shoes are just devine (3:Juniper). In fact, they are my absolute dream shoes. The heels are perfect for a night out - not too low, not too high but very glittery. I tried them on so many times but unfortunately they just don't seem to be designed for my feet. Depressing. I shall stick to glittery make-up such as the eye dust (3:Tigress) and DIY vases I guess then.

Autumn is coming

Last weekend my favourite visitor came to London and we spent Sunday exploring west London. Even though I've been living here for a quite a few months now there's so much more to see! As it was a very sunny day I chose to wear my lovely Topshop skirt and white lace jumper as well as my H&M Trenchcoat to keep warm. If I learnt one thing from living in England it is to always, always bring and umbrella and jacket as the weather can change in seconds! The suede t-bar shoes I'm wearing are from Topshop too. The cut outs are a really cute detail and they are so comfy with their little block heel. I got them in black and pink now...but there are also available in green at the moment - very tempting!

Around lunch time we went to My Old Dutch in Kensington. It is an amazing pancake house with the biggest, widest range of pancakes I have ever seen! Whilst my boyfriend chose to go for the (very!) spicy chicken one, I stuck to the sweet things in life and ate a banana pancake with chocolate sauce and vanilla ice-cream. It was amazing!!! If you fancy some unusual drinks My Old Dutch is also your place as they offer some amazing milkshakes and fruit beer from Belgium. From mango to banana beer, they got it.

Letzten Sonntag war mein Lieblingsbesucher in London, da haben wir gleich den ganzen Sonntag damit verbracht die Gegend mehr zu erkunden. Da das Wetter noch nicht ganz zu herbstlich war, konnte ich meinen neuen Lieblingsrock von Topshop tragen. Allerdings bin ich eine Frostbeule und so durfte der weiße Wollpulli unter dem H&M Trenchcoat nicht fehlen. Die rosa Schuhe sind auch von Topshop. Die Cut-Out Details, weiche Wildleder und der kleine Blockabsatz machen sie einfach perfekt. Sie passen zu allem und sind perfekt für die Arbeit. Ich habe die Schuhe auch noch in schwarz und nun gibt's sie bei Topshop sogar in grün...aber ich kann mir nicht wirklich das selbe Schuhpaar in drei verschiedenen Farben kaufen, oder? 

Mittags ging es dann zum My Old Dutch in Kensington, ein Pfannkuchenhaus mit leckeren Milkshakes und verrückten Biersorten. Das Bananenbier war ganz lecker, aber die Pfannkuchen waren noch viel besser und vor allem riesig! Das Menü sah auch super aus für ein deftiges Frühstück oder Brunch - auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert!

What I've been up to...

Woooaaah adult life is so different to student life! Since July I started my first proper grown-up job and since then I don't seem to find any time to blog. If I'm honest I do have time after work, but I'm just so tired (what a boring person I've turned into!). Luckily I'm constantly surrounded my fashion and trends in my job so I shouldn't lack in inspirations but maybe it is motivation. Others might call it a writers block...Anyways I thought I break the silence with a quick visual Instagram diary on what I've been up to!

(1) Autumn is here! Even though we had an incredible summer and I do love the sun, I'm actually quite glad I get to wear my autumn clothes again. The fur, coat and booties I wear on this photo all belong to my mum. She thinks they are super old school but I do love them. These black boots are the comfiest things ever.

(2) Last weekend I went to my first ever English wedding and I loved it! The bride and ceremony were absolutely beautiful. There were lots of cakes, vintage tea cups and bunting.

(3) Embarrassing selfie. This is the dress I wore at the wedding, it's from Louche/Joy. I absolutely love their collections and stores. The prices are really affordable, the quality is great and the designs are quite unique. Their autumn collection just came out and there is a little metallic skirt I've already fallen in love with...pay day hurry up please.

(4) Beauty addict. I never counted myself to the ones who were addicted to beauty products, but ever since I've started earning my own money I seem to have inherited my mum's curiosity in beauty products. Her bathroom shelfs were always filled with hundreds of things. In this case I didn't have to feel guilty about spending money as it was all for charity! The Clinique chubby stick comes in a lovely brown color, perfect for a natural autumn look. Maxfactor's red lipstick is matte, smooth and doesn't dry out the lips - perfect! The last product I got was Eyeko's fat brush mascara. I didn't know the brand before, but I've to say it's great! I'm really picky with mascaras usually and stick to Maybelline's Telescopic and Kiko's mascara but Eyeko's mascara tube persuaded me! It even comes with a little cover so it's impossible to get mascara on your eye lid if you're in a hurry.

(5) Matchy matchy. Just a little combo I was wearing the other day at work. My mum brought this little set back from Thailand for me 2 years ago. It's a light yellow skirt and blouse with a photographic landscape print. It's crazy how fashionable and trend-forward Thailand is. The co-ord trend just arrived on the UK high-street now.

(6) Knitty. Since I started working my wardrobe must have doubled. The amount of clothes I bring back after a week at work is crazy. Need. To. Stop.

(7) Vans X Liberty. Love, love, looooove my new trainers. My bf got me these as a belated birthday present and they are soooo beautiful!

It's feels weird to admit that I have been drawn to pink coloured clothes and shoes recently. I mean... WHAT HAPPENED TO ME!? I was so sure I would never like that certain bright shade of pink again in my life, but as usual one shall never say never. Especially if it's fashion related. The colour pinks has been been associated with Barbie, blondies and pure trashiness for a while now but on the streets we can see how pink can actually look really nice and quite sophisticated, if combined with simple cuts, calm colours or silky materials. Whilst looking around the high-street and browsing my favourite online shops, pink seems to pop up everywhere! The ASOS happy days sandals are my absolute favourite. I love everything about them: The nostalgic kitsch, the metallic look and the chunky heel which hopefully makes the shoe a little bit more comfy. Pink is such a vibrant summer colour (great for a night out!) and can be easily taken into autumn. Take the streetstyle photographs as an example - pink accessories and key pieces are great colour accents when the first autumn outfits.

Excuse me talking about autumn fashion already...in the head office I'm working in I'm surrounded by wintery knits already!

randomness in marketing: Kenzo a/w 13

For years marketing campaigns have been full of wonderful random things, but it feels like it's reaching its peak now! Surrealism takes a strong part in Kenzo's A/W 13 campaign, which really catches people's attention with its wonderful, vivid colours and fantasy motives. I really love these kinda random and very creative ads. They inspire my imagination and make me wonder much longer about the campaign than the usual black & white photography of half naked models. More, more, more of this please!

Seit Jahren werden die Marketing Kampagnen immer verrückter! Sei es sprechende Tiere oder einfach nur Dinge die komplett keinen Sinn machen. Diese Kenzo's H/W 2013 Kampagne ist so ein Beispiel: Eine Katze im Schuh, ein "Tigerhund", merkwürdige Hände/Füße - die neue Kampagne ist bunt, schrill und sehr surreal! Die fantasievollen Bilder stehen total im Kontrast zu den typischen Schwarz-Weiß Fotografien von halb nackten Models - was ich super finde! Ich kann es kaum erwarten Kenzo's Kampagne in den Zeitschriften zu sehen. Was denkt ihr darüber?

Hopkinson Nottingham

 

Life has been pretty chaotic and amazing - so much has happened in only a week! I moved to London and started my new job! It's a rather weird feeling when dreams come true all the sudden. This weekend I spent exploring the city, eating yummy food and enjoying the sun. So here's a quick (delayed) post about Hopkinson which is not in London but back in Nottingham! I went there a few days before my big move and it's such a cute, inspirational place. I always wanted to go there but somehow I never did! If you're around Nottingham it's definitely worth a visit, either for some tea & cake or to browse their wide range of vintage treasures. This is especially a nice place for someone who is not only into vintage clothing but also into vintage homeware. My favourites are the cute tea cups and plates with fabulous patterns on. They are so typical British that it is hard to resist!

Die vergangene Woche war sehr chaotisch, aber auch sehr schön! Am Sonntag bin ich nämlich von Nottingham nach London gezogen und am Dienstag ging schon mein neuer Job los. Es ist wirklich ein merkwürdiges Gefühl, wenn plötzlich Träume wahr werden. Mein erstes Wochenende in London habe ich damit verbracht die Stadt zu erforschen, leckeres Essen zu essen in der Sonne. Auf den Bildern seht ihr Hopkins, ein ganz toller Independent Laden in Nottingham! Ein paar Tage vor meinem Umzug habe ich es nämlich endlich mal geschafft dort hinzugehen. Es ist wirklich ein toller Ort für Tea & Cake oder für alle die nach Inspirationen suchen oder Vintage Kleidung/Hausrat/Deko mögen. Besonders schön finde ich die typisch Englischen Teetassen und Teller...es war wirklich schwer nichts zu kaufen vor dem großen Umzug, aber vielleicht ja beim nächsten Mal.

free people june lookbook

Have you seen Free People's June lookbook yet? I just came across it now and its incredible!!! The colours, lighting and styling create a beautiful soft and mysterious mood. Irresistible. I especially like the photography of the accessories. And what can I say other than I love the gem stone necklaces.  However this is not supposed to turn into another gem stone post, promise! Not only is Free People's lookbook amazing because of the styling - but also because it's interactive which makes it so much easier to find the products we like. It even includes a tutorial to get that beach perfect hair style the model got! I discovered this lookbook when searching for a fringed leather jacket or kimono. I'm currently obsessed with these two things and have been browsing Ebay, Etsy, ASOS Marketplace and many other shops for the one and only fringed leather jacket! Please let me know if you know a place where I should look for it!

Habt ihr schon das Free People Lookbook vom Juni gesehen? All die Farben und Lichteffekte sind einfach nur wunderschön. Besonders gut gefallen mir der Edelsteinschmuck, aber das könnt ihr euch sicher schon denken wenn ihr meinen Blog kennt! Toll ist auch, dass das Free People Lookbook interaktiv ist. So macht das online shoppen gleich mehr Spaß, denn es ist viel einfach die Produkte und Preise zu finden. Außerdem gibt es auch ein Tutorial indem gezeigt wird wie man zu Hause das tolle Beach Haarstyling vom Model hinbekommt. Ich habe das Lookbook entdeckt als ich auf der Suche nach einer Lederjacke oder Kimono mit Fransen war. Manche finden das wahrscheinlich eher ein wenig merkwürdig, aber ich bin momentan ganz verrückt nach dem Fransen-Boho Look! Ich hab schon Ebay, Etsy, ASOS Marketplace und viele anderen Läden durchsucht nach der einen perfekten Lederjacke mit Fransen. Leider war ich noch immer nicht fündig, lasst mich doch bitte wissen falls ihr wisst wo ich noch so gucken könnte!

ZARA sale

ZARA'S SALE STARTS AT MIDNIGHT!!!
I'm so excited for this! I'm a bargain hunter (definitely got it from my mum) and Zara's collections have been extremely amazing this season so I'm really looking forward to this one. Thanks to printing hundreds of pages for my dissertation I wasn't able to shop as much as I wanted to. I guess if something pretty is on sale there are no excuses to be made, especially after I've sold quite a few bits on Ebay the other day...on the other side I should really save some money as I'm moving to London! What shall I do?

Dank Facebook habe ich gerade gesehen, dass Zara's Sale heute um Mitternacht beginnt! Ich fand die Zara Frühling/Sommer Kollektionen dieses Jahr besonders gelungen und wollte eigentlich schon gerne ein paar Sachen kaufen, aber leider hatte das Drucken meiner Bachelorarbeit einfach zu viel Geld gekostet! Erst letztes Wochenende habe ich mein Kleiderschrank ausgemistet und ganz viel bei Ebay verkauft - vielleicht ist es Zeit für eine neue Investition? Aber eigentlich sollte ich doch für mein Umzug nach London sparen...!

So are you superstitious? Do you believe in the supernatural? Superstition has been quite a big trend in fashion for a while now. Everyone for example kinda went crazy for things with space prints on! Another trend which seem to pop up more and more are gemstones. In my first year of university we went to New York and I was so happy to find a raw amethyst necklace at Urban Outfitters as it was only available in the US. I might not be a very superstitious person but I kinda believe in astrology and the strengths of gemstones. It must have been the influence of my grandmother, auntie and big sister who all collected gemstones and I remember admiring especially my big sister's collection of beautiful raw amethysts. In the collage you can see two necklaces from Regal Rose's new collection featuring many gorgeous necklaces with amethysts and blue lapis. Etsy is also a great place if you're looking for some unique gemstone jewellery.

Bist du abergläubisch? In den letzten 3 Jahren konnten wir Weltall/Astrologie Themen immer wieder in der Modewelt wiederfinden. Schon WGSN, die führende Trend-Analyse- und Forschungs-Agentur der Modebranche, hatte den Trend 'Superstition' (Aberglaube) hervor gesagt und lag damit Gold richtig. Pinterest und Tumblr sind voll mit Astrologie Bildern und auch Edelsteine werden Jahr für Jahr beliebter. Ich bin nicht all zu abergläubisch, aber ich muss schon zugeben dass ich an die Kräfte von Edelsteinen glaube. Der Grund dafür liegt wahrscheinlich am Einfluss meiner Oma, Tante und großen Schwester die alle Edelsteine sammeln! Normalerweise bin ich nicht unbedingt ein Fan von Schmuck, aber wenn an einer Kette ein wunderschöner Amethyst oder Bergkristall hängt dann kann ich einfach nicht nein sagen. Sollte es dir genau so gehen dann kann ich dir auf jeden Fall Etsy.com und die Englische Marke Regal Rose empfehlen. Die neue Kollektion ist wunderschön und preisgünstig.

Miu Miu Vintage Skirt

Hey guys!

The past few weeks have been crazily busy and all of our uni work is officially handed in! So this bank holiday was all about having an awesome time with friends, eating delicious food, watching The Great Gatsby (what an amazing movie!!!) and enjoying good music at Dot to Dot in Nottingham. Yesterday we went into town and whilst browsing a few rails I found this gorgeous vintage Miu Miu pencil skirt!!! Of course I had to buy it! It has a beautiful 60's monochrome pattern, which is totally on trend right now but the skirt is also a classic item for many occasions. The song on the top is definitely worth a listen if you haven't heard about the Ruen Brothers yet. They were one of my favourite bands at Dot to Dot - I'm sure we will hear much more about the talented duo soon!

Nach einigen schlaflosen Nächten ist die Bachelorarbeit nun endlich eingereicht! Deswegen wurde dieses Wochenende auch genutzt um Spaß zu haben und alte Freunde wiederzusehen. Samstag haben wir uns endlich The Great Gatsby angeschaut und der Film ist einfach nur traumhaft schön! Ist der eigentlich auch schon in Deutschland draußen? Ich würde mir den Film echt noch einmal im Kino anschauen. Am Sonntag war dann Dot to Dot in Nottingham und den ganzen Tag lang sind wir von Club zu Club gestratzt um unsere Lieblingsbands zu sehen. The Ruen Brothers waren einer meiner Favoriten - wir werden sicher noch viel von den talentierten Brüdern hören. Eins der großen Highlights war auch, dass ich ein Vintage Miu Miu Rock gekauft habe!!! Ich konnte mein Glück kaum passen, denn er passt perfekt und das Muster ist einfach nur wunderbar 60's.

looking east for inspiration

New York. London. Paris. Streetstyle photography from these fashion cities often dominate blogs and give style inspirations, but this time it's MOSCOW. Thanks to refinery29 I came across these photos of stylish Russian women, who don't need more that some clever detailing to their look. Especially the girl with the fringed scarf caught my attention. She just looks so pretty with her fuchsia lips and cute eye make-up.


New York. London. Paris. Irgendwie stammen die meisten Streetstyle Inspirationen dann doch immer von den Modehauptstädten der Welt, aber diesmal dreht es sich alles für mich um Moskau! Bei refinery29 hab ich diese tollen Streetstyle Fotos von stylischen Russinnen entdeckt und wollte sie gleich erstmal mit euch teilen. Die hübschen Damen beweisen einfach mal wieder, dass man eigentlich nur ein paar tolle Akzente setzen muss für einen tolle Look! Wunderschön fand ich vor allem das Mädchen mit dem Lippenstift im angesagten Fuchsia und geschwungenen Lidstrich. Pretty girl!

Charlotte Olympia Zodiac Shoes

Star signs are a debatable topic but I have to admit that I believe in it! Not in the daily horoscopes, but in the personality traits each star sign got. Of course everyone is an individual and we can't generalise people, but often the descriptions are quite correct, don't you think so?
When I saw Charlotte Olympia's beautiful new suede slippers I had to tell my sister straight away (as we share our love for star signs!). The whole collection consists of flats as well as clutch bags for each star sign. The heart-shaped detail and little golden heel are cute little details to the shoes as well. Unfortunately the price tag is wayyy to high for me...so I started wondering how I could make these kind a shoes myself? Just stick on some brooches maybe? Well, if I come up with a good DIY idea or see somethings similar on the Internet I will let you know.

Sternzeichen sind bekanntlich ein umstrittenes Thema. Ich muss zugeben, dass ich total daran glaube! Nicht unbedingt an die Horoskope in Zeitschriften, aber viel mehr an die Persönlichkeitsbeschreibungen die jedes Sternzeichen hat. Natürlich ist jeder individuell und wir können Persönlichkeiten nicht verallgemeinern, aber im Großen und Ganzem passt es oft oder? Da meine Schwester und ich beide 'Sternzeichen-Fans' sind musste ich ihr gleich Bescheid sagen als ich diese Charlotte Olympia Schuhe gesehen habe! Sind sie nicht süß? In ihrer Kollektion gibt es für jedes Sternzeichen Schuhe und eine Clutch mit passendem Symbol drauf. Auf jeden Fall ein tolles neues Design nach ihren bekannten Kätzchen Schuhen. Leider sind die Schuhe dann doch ein wenig zu teuer...aber vielleicht gibt es ja bald eine DIY Variante.
