Autumn is coming

Last weekend my favourite visitor came to London and we spent Sunday exploring west London. Even though I've been living here for a quite a few months now there's so much more to see! As it was a very sunny day I chose to wear my lovely Topshop skirt and white lace jumper as well as my H&M Trenchcoat to keep warm. If I learnt one thing from living in England it is to always, always bring and umbrella and jacket as the weather can change in seconds! The suede t-bar shoes I'm wearing are from Topshop too. The cut outs are a really cute detail and they are so comfy with their little block heel. I got them in black and pink now...but there are also available in green at the moment - very tempting!

Around lunch time we went to My Old Dutch in Kensington. It is an amazing pancake house with the biggest, widest range of pancakes I have ever seen! Whilst my boyfriend chose to go for the (very!) spicy chicken one, I stuck to the sweet things in life and ate a banana pancake with chocolate sauce and vanilla ice-cream. It was amazing!!! If you fancy some unusual drinks My Old Dutch is also your place as they offer some amazing milkshakes and fruit beer from Belgium. From mango to banana beer, they got it.

Letzten Sonntag war mein Lieblingsbesucher in London, da haben wir gleich den ganzen Sonntag damit verbracht die Gegend mehr zu erkunden. Da das Wetter noch nicht ganz zu herbstlich war, konnte ich meinen neuen Lieblingsrock von Topshop tragen. Allerdings bin ich eine Frostbeule und so durfte der weiße Wollpulli unter dem H&M Trenchcoat nicht fehlen. Die rosa Schuhe sind auch von Topshop. Die Cut-Out Details, weiche Wildleder und der kleine Blockabsatz machen sie einfach perfekt. Sie passen zu allem und sind perfekt für die Arbeit. Ich habe die Schuhe auch noch in schwarz und nun gibt's sie bei Topshop sogar in grün...aber ich kann mir nicht wirklich das selbe Schuhpaar in drei verschiedenen Farben kaufen, oder? 

Mittags ging es dann zum My Old Dutch in Kensington, ein Pfannkuchenhaus mit leckeren Milkshakes und verrückten Biersorten. Das Bananenbier war ganz lecker, aber die Pfannkuchen waren noch viel besser und vor allem riesig! Das Menü sah auch super aus für ein deftiges Frühstück oder Brunch - auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert!

Thanks to refinery29 I came across these photos of stylish Russian women, who don't need more that some clever detailing to their look. Especially the girl with the fringed scarf caught my attention. She just looks so pretty with her fuchsia lips and cute eye make-up.


New York. London. Paris. Irgendwie stammen die meisten Streetstyle Inspirationen dann doch immer von den Modehauptstädten der Welt, aber diesmal dreht es sich alles für mich um Moskau! Bei refinery29 hab ich diese tollen Streetstyle Fotos von stylischen Russinnen entdeckt und wollte sie gleich erstmal mit euch teilen. Die hübschen Damen beweisen einfach mal wieder, dass man eigentlich nur ein paar tolle Akzente setzen muss für einen tolle Look! Wunderschön fand ich vor allem das Mädchen mit dem Lippenstift im angesagten Fuchsia und geschwungenen Lidstrich. Pretty girl!

Neon colours. Some of you might cringe by the look of it and some just love it. One thing is for sure, the bright colours will stay on trend for S/S 13. Erdem, House of Holland and Simone Rocha all showed collections featuring the bright hues at London Fashion Week. I always had a bit of a love-hate-relationship with neon...but now I have handed in the first part of my dissertation and I'm fed up with wearing my dull winter wardrobe, neon colours seem to be the perfect way to lighten up the day! Instead of mixing up the bright colours with black, grey and feminine materials create a much softer neon spring look.

Now it's getting colder and colder everyday I seem to be turning away from my usual choice of colourful and patterned clothes and tend to look out for black leather and good quality items which keep me warm. One of my most recent buys is the green H&M merino wool jumper. When I saw the beautiful watercolour print on it I was in love straight away and had to order it...plus the jumper was on sale! Now that I'm in my third year of university I try to keep my eye open for things I could wear at work. The ASOS scallop bag seems to be the perfect bag for an interview/work and has the perfect size too! This season the Chelsea boots from Acne have filtered down to the highstreet and everyone seems to be wearing them at the moment. I wonder if the next big thing will be the Acne's Cypress boots? They are available in black, wine red and chestnut as well as in a flat version. I think all of them look absolutely gorgeous and I would definitely not mind a cheaper version of these £460 boots. Lastly, I came across these amazing crystal soaps on Free People's website. They would make a great present and are all natural!

Auch in England wird es nun immer kälter und ich halte Ausschau nach warmen Dingen, die ich auch tragen kann wenn ich arbeite. Denn...man kann es kaum fassen...ich bin schon in meinem finalen Uni Jahr! Vor kurzem habe ich den grünen H&M Pullover im Sale gekauft. Er ist aus Merinowolle und das wunderschöne Muster hat mich einfach sofort überzeugt. Da ich bald (hoffentlich) viele Bewerbungsgespräche haben werde, suche ich momentan nach einer schwarzen, A4 großen Ledertasche, die aber nicht langweilig/spießig aussieht. Besonders gut gefällt mir die ASOS Tasche mit dem süßen Muschelrand - einfach perfekt!  Soooo und falls du auch noch nach einem Geschenk suchst, wie wäre es mit den natürlichen Edelstein-Seifen? Finden kannst du diese bei Free People, sowie direkt bei den jeweiligen Seifenmarken.

The summer is coming to an end and it's finally time to wear leather boots and shirts again. Autumn florals are a big trend for this season. The dark and gloomy interpretation of the flower print is my favourite, as seen at Dolce & Gabbana and Erdem. This floral Topshop skirt is made of organza, which gives the look a fresher and younger touch. When combined with a denim shirt and black leather boots it is the perfect daytime look, comfortable and right on trend. And how cute are the zodiac sign watch and the cork board phone case? Both are definitely on my wishlist.

Der Sommer geht dem Ende zu und es wird wieder Zeit die Lederstiefel aus dem Schuhschrank zu kramen. Diese Saison ist mein Lieblingstrend der 'Autumn Floral' Trend, so wie von Dolce & Gabbana und Erdem. Besonders schön finde ich düstere Blumendrucke mit schwarz, lila, Spitze oder Leder kombiniert. Doch im Alltag gibt ein Jeanshemd dem dunklen floralen Muster einen jüngeren Touch. Außerdem  musste ich euch noch die Armbanduhr mit Sternzeichensymbolen und der Handyhülle in raffinierter Holzoptik zeigen - einfach toll!

Uni is nearly over and the sun is out - all we need now is the perfect outfit for a trip to the beach! If you read my blog quite often you will probably know that I'm a We Are Handsome fan, so their floral bikini is very high on my wishlist. Another thing which can't miss at the beach is a pair of stylish sunglasses. For a bit of 50's retro fun, cat eye sunglasses are the perfect choice. They are a must-have this summer and look so cute I think. What is on your wishlist for this summer?

Die Uni is so gut wie vorbei und der Sommer ist nun auch endlich in England angekommen! Auf der Suche nach dem perfekten Bikini und Sommerschuhen wurde ich auf Farfetch.com fündig. Der Bikini von 'We Are Handsome' ist einfach nur traumhaft und die goldene Sohle der Stine Goya Schuhe glänzt bestimmt besonders schön in der Sonne. Außerdem darf diesen Sommer die Cat Eye Sonnenbrille beim nicht fehlen, denn sie gibt dem ganzen Look einen 50's retro Touch.

Chunky platform sneakers seem to pop up on the highstreet slowly! Love the Topshop grey ones, if they would only have mint laces. Monki's Bess shoes are really cute as well. The organza ribbons give them a great extra touch and would look amazing to rolled up jeans or a floral summer dress.

Ob Topshop, Asos oder Monki - Sneakers mit Platform scheinen dieses Jahhr besonders trendy zu sein. Monki hatte sich schon letztes Jahr an den Trend getraut, aber nun folgen auch die englischen Marken. Mir gefallen besonders gut die grauen Topshop Sneaker, nur die pinken Schnürsenkel würde ich lieber durch hell türkisene ersetzten. Monki's Bess Schuhe sind  auch toll und sogar aus einem Lederimitat. Die Organza Schnürsenkel lassen die Schuhe noch etwas mädchenhafter aussehen und passen perfekt zu hochgekrempelten Jeans oder einem schönen Blumemkleid.

It  might be freezing cold out there but all I'm thinking about is summer! Blue and grey seem the perfect combination for the first sunny day. Weekdays shoes and silky shirts this season are amazing as always and you can never go wrong with some Levis shorts. Unfortunately I couldn't find any shirt collar trips on my trip to Beijing, so I'm hoping to find some nice ones online. Any tips?

Obwohl es draußen noch super kalt ist momentan, denke ich schon an den nächsten Sommer. Blau und Grau sehen in der Kombination mit Jeans und seidigen Stoffen einfach wunderbar frühlingshaft aus. Wie jede Saison hat Weekday nicht nur viele wunderbare T-Shirts mit tollen Drucken sondern auch diese traumhaften Schuhe (gibt es auch im zarten gelb!). Seit langem stehen nun auch schon Shirt tips auf meiner Wunschliste, aber ich kann leider einfach nicht die Richtigen finden.

There are way too many pretty things out there. It seems like I'm developing a passion for mint coloured things lately. I love the icy freshness of the colour and that it is not all over the highstreet yet. Although we might see it more often very soon due to Chloé's Winter 2011/2012 collection. Instead of silver and gold accessories, copper is a great alternative. Weekday got great arm cuffs at the moment, which gives you a more edgy look.

Es gibt einfach viel zu viele schöne Dinge da draußen. Wenn man meine Wunschlist so betrachtet erkennt man schnell, dass ich momentan von Mint nicht genug bekommen kann. Es ist einfach eine so herrlich erfischende Farbe, an der man sich noch nicht satt gesehen hat. Zumindestens noch nicht. Chloé's Winter 2011/2012 Show zeigte schon vereinzelt diesen Farbton und hat vielleicht doch den ein oder anderen Designer inspiriert. Wir können gespannt sein. Statt Silber und Gold Accessoires, sieht Kupfer besonders schön aus in der Kombination mit Mint. Weekdays Armreifen sind da genau das Richtige.

Look at me I'm a poser - but only because I had to find a way of showing you my new beautiful jumper! Metallic and glittery jumpers are a big trend this winter again and will probably always be. Mine is blue metallic and from (believe it or not) H&M's kids section. Finally the sleeves aren't too long for me and it was a bargain as well.

Ich bin ja kein großer Fan von Webcam Posing, aber leider hatte ich keine andere Wahl euch meinen neuen tolle Pullover zu zeigen! Diesen Winter sind Metallik- und Glitzereffekte mal wieder ein großer Trend (sowie eigentlich jedes Jahr) und ich habe ein besonders tolles Schnäppchen gemacht. Denn mein blauer Metallik Pullover stammt aus der H&M Kinderabteilung! Unfassbar  wie stylish sich die Kids von heute anziehen und glücklicherweise passt Größe 170 wie angegossen.

I'm glad that this year time passes by even quicker than usual. I can't wait to be back in Germany with my family and best friends. These are photos we took after the Born2Style A/W 11 lookbook shoot and isn't my friend on the right pretty? She did such a brilliant job modelling the collection at that weekend in Hamburg.

Ich bin so froh, dass die Zeit so schnell vergeht dieses Jahr. Die vielen Uniprojekte halten mich auf Trapp und bald bin ich wieder zurück bei meinen Liebsten in Deutschland. Die Fotos entstanden nach dem Born2Style H/W11 Lookbook Shooting in Hamburg. Ist meine Freundin nicht suuuuper hübsch? Ich liebe diese Fotos, auch wenn ich ein wenig Heimweh bekomme.

Here is a little selection of my fav styles at the moment. Grey, black, metallics and a little bit green seem to reflect my mood best. All items are from fab swedish brands and not from the English highstreet. Don't understand me wrong...I appreciate affordable & stylish fashion very much but I believe there is much more out there than the usual brands.

Eine kleine Auswahl meiner Lieblingskleidungstücke von ein paar meiner liebsten swedischen Marken. Warmer Strick, dunkle/metallic Farben und chunky heels spiegeln meine Stimmung momentan am besten wieder. Es ist schön wieder in England zu sein, allerdings vermisse ich ein wenig Monki/Weekday auf der berühmten englischen Highstreet. Topshop ist schön und gut, aber nicht wenn jede Studentin darin gleich aussieht. Uff. Jeden Tag träume ich mehr von einem kleinen Ausflug nach Schweden/Stockholm. Die Mode ist toll und das Leben angeblich auch. Vllt sind das genügend Gründe um über eine Zukunft in Schweden nachzudenken?

Catching sun rays

Today was a nice & sunny saturday. I used my free time to catch some sun rays and read the book I got from my best friends for my birthday. It's quite a funny book about a french guy living in Hamburg trying to understand why oh why germans are how they are. Also I've cleared out my wardrobe and found my necklace between some clothes! I always thought I've lost it in Nottingham somewhere but it was back in Hanover all the time! Yaaay! I got it from my grandma when I was a little girl and it's still the only heart necklace I really like. 

Heute habe ich den sonnigen Tan im Garten verbracht und das Buch gelesen welches ich zum Geburtstag bekommen habe. Es ist sehr witzig und handelt von einem Franzosen in Deuschland, der versucht die Deutschen zu verstehen. Er deckt so manche Fakten über die Deutschen auf, deren ich mir noch nicht bewusst war und belegt seine Thesen stets mit witzigen Gegebenheiten aus seinem Leben. Außerdem habe ich heute überraschenderweise meine Herzchenkette wiedergefunden. Was für ein Wunder! Mein Großmutte hat mir diese geschenkt als ich ein kleines Mädchen war und nun werde ich besonders gut auf diese wunderschöne Kette aufpassen.

Ohh I love the first sunny autumn days when the leaves fall off the trees and colour the streets in a beautiful rusty orange. It's the perfect time to catch up with friends about last summer whilst having tea & cake. The best thing about autumn is though that I can finally start wearing my coats. Some would maybe say I'm a bit addicted but it's just like other girls who can't resist shoes. I mean everyone needs a beautiful coat in countries like Germany and England right?

Hamburg Photo Diary

I'm back in Germany and visited my sister in Hamburg for a few days. Today we went to the 'Isemarkt' which is the longest open air market in Europe and is definitely worth a visit if you are looking for fresh food, exotic chutney and beautiful flowers. You can also get a little bag full of traditional german sweets for only 50 cent. If you do, get the 'waldmeister' (sweet woodruff) candy. It's addictive! At the end of the day we went to the japanese all-you-can-eat restaurant Jam Jam. I'm not a big fan of sushi but luckily they also served Dim Sum, Satay skewers etc.. The interesting bit about Jam Jam? Bubble Tea!!! Get a jasmine milk tea on ice with plum/lychee/mango bubbles (small chewy fruity balls) inside. Excitingly different!

Last friday we went to Cocotang for some cocktails. I used this opportunity and tried their new flower cocktails. Unbelievable they taste just as flowers smell! I wonder what they put in these cocktails?

I just love to mix different materials, especially tough leather with floaty materials. I don't need any accessories, but a dark red/violet lipstick. I'm obsessed with it at the moment.

 I'm craving for raw gem accessories already for ages but Billy Brides jewelry would definitely break my bank. Finally it seems like highstreet shops such as Topshop and Urban Outfitters answer my prayers! Topshops stone necklaces aren't too impressive but Urban Outfitters raw gem earrings, rings and necklaces made my heart jump every time I clicked on another item! They look stunning!!! They are only available in the US but ship to UK.
