H&M X Brick Lane Bikes
Since 2004, H&M collaborated with luxury designers. From Karl Lagerfeld to Maison Martin Margiela, all the sudden everyone of us could afford luxury items. Personally, I found these collaborations more and more disappointing over time and I'm glad to see that H&M's choice in collaborations is changing! On the 7.3.2013 H&M's capsule men's collection with Brick Lane Bikes will be available in stores and online. The 11 piece collection ranges from waterproof jackets to vintage-inspired bike jerseys made from sustainable materials. The vibrant colours and thought through functionality make this collection definitely a great addition to the wardrobe. This collaboration choice is not only right on trend but also much more authentic and surprising than its high-end designer collaborations.

london life

I'm back in Nottingham after a wonderful week at Hemingway Design working on the promotion of the Queen's Jubilee through new media. Despite getting up early for work we used the evenings for a trip to Camden, a night walk along the Thames and a visit to the Future Fashion event at Westfield London. They had everything there, from free beauty treatments (hair, make-up, nails etc.) to a 3D fashion show, which was absolutely amazing!!! Huge touchscreens made it possible to create personal moodboards with your favourite clothing items and getting photos taken there encouraged people to tweet about their Future Fashion experience. It was great to see all these new ways of marketing in action and showed what the future might bring us.

Thanks to the creative heads of Turkish makeup artist Feride Uslu and German entrepreneur Jan Mihm we can travel in style from now on. Their high-end cosmetic brand USLU Airlines offers advanced quality formula in the nail polishes and a very wide range of colours. The best bit of the brand is the creative concept though. Each colour is inspired and named after airports around the world – from Itacoatiara in Brazil to Berlin Schönefeld in Germany. Who wouldn’t want a nail polish of their favourite city? USLU also collaborates often with other brands such as with the French concept store Colette. Check out their transparent and glittery nail polish, if you want to wear Palm Springs on your fingers – it smells of figs! USLU is definitely a brand to watch and not only for girls as they plan to stretch the brand into the men‘s grooming segment in 2012. Find the nail polishes at The Good Hood Store (UK) or at Kauf Dich Glücklich (Germany).

Prunella is a vegan and organic soap brand from America. Every piece is handmade with natural ingredients. Between all these upcoming 'we-are-so-eco-friendly' brands, is this product presentation really refreshing and cute! It reminds me of exactly the same tiny litlle plastic dogs I used to play with when I was little. Check out more of their products on Etsy.

initial the unusual experience
In Beijing I used the great chance to find out more about the Asian fashion market, discover brands I've never heard of before and collect ideas. There was especially one shop I couldn't pass by without going in: The fashion lifestyle brand Initial. I was impressed by the unique in-store environment and the overall presentation of their high-quality, cutting edge designs as well as beautiful home decors.
The brand feels very personal and unique. Interesting is how Initial creates a feeling of nostalgia through the use of colours and antique interiors, but remains unique compared to British high street brands which use nostalgia in their branding as well. Another concept I came across quite a few times in Beijing is to combine fashion & food. In this case Initial’s café offers the highest quality coffee beans and ingredients in an inspiring and quiet place. I wish I could have tried the lychee coffee. Unfortunately, there are only stores in Hong Kong and mainland China but Initial’s website offers just as the stores an ‘Unusual Experience’ to their customers. Click here.

tattly
I always wondered why there are only ugly temporary tattoos out there. Tattly is the answer for people who think that forever might not always better. Their tattoo designs are fun, cheap and defintely worth a try! Even Stina Persson designed some tatoos for Tattly and they are one of my favourites.

One by Street One November/December 2011

| One by Street One |
Remember when I blogged about me assisting at a photoshoot back in september? Here are the backstage video and photos of it! I just love the mood of their november/december campaign, it's all about colour and having FUN! I'm so proud that I was part of One by Street Ones amazing photoshoot and that I had the chance to learn a lot about branding and styling. Also I'm a big fan of the berry coloured jacked and the model (love her feather tattoo). I mean WHO could pull these silly faces and still look as hot as her?

Lucky's London Packaging
Just came across another great example of British product branding & packaging. Inspired by their favourite book Alice in Wonderland, Lucky's creates unique luxury cakes fully covered in pure chocolate, as well as indulgent filled chocolates. All of their hand-made treats are based on a Alice in Wonderland character and come in a beautifully designed box. An interesting promotional idea by Lucky's is Lucky Cards – when ordering your favourite chocolate out of the wonderland, chose one of a range of beautifully designed cards with an exclusive code that can then be used to claim a free gift when it arrives with your order. Inspirational & addictive.
Inspirierend & man will mehr.
