Hamburg Photo Diary

I'm back in Germany and visited my sister in Hamburg for a few days. Today we went to the 'Isemarkt' which is the longest open air market in Europe and is definitely worth a visit if you are looking for fresh food, exotic chutney and beautiful flowers. You can also get a little bag full of traditional german sweets for only 50 cent. If you do, get the 'waldmeister' (sweet woodruff) candy. It's addictive! At the end of the day we went to the japanese all-you-can-eat restaurant Jam Jam. I'm not a big fan of sushi but luckily they also served Dim Sum, Satay skewers etc.. The interesting bit about Jam Jam? Bubble Tea!!! Get a jasmine milk tea on ice with plum/lychee/mango bubbles (small chewy fruity balls) inside. Excitingly different!

I'm super excited for the Bread & Butter this year. Why? Because it will be a Supershow! More acts, more brands, more of everything and this video makes me even more excited! Loving the paint splatter design.

Inspirational Pitti Uomo

Birmingham was amazing today, definitely an amazing place for shopping & food. A more detailed post will follow as soon as possible.
For now I want to share with you some streetstyle photos from the menswear fashion fair Pitti Uomo in Florence which I found on the streetfsn's blog. Pitti Uomo seems like the meeting point for the coolest and most stylish men from around the world and is therefore right on on the top of my list when it comes to places to visit. They know what to wear, how to wear it and look absolutely unique and charming. I'm in love. Are you?

Thank you streetfsn

As you probably know I'm absolutely obsessed with Monki and I'm so glad to announce that they will open a store in London!!! It's like an answer to all my prayers.

Topshop Autumn 2011

The summer hasn't even started yet but I feel the urge to share the new Topshop autumn collection for 2011 with you guys. The upcoming trends are: Bavaria, Thrift, Psychobilly and Glamrock. Bavaria (1) covers the boho look with fur and maxi skirts. Thrift (2) is something for vintage girls who are loving mid length skirts and pretty blouses in soft colours. Psychobilly (3) presents the rebellious 60s look with strong colours/mix of materials and Glamrock (4) equals 70's rock chic. I think that the looks are a bit disappointing. There is nothing new and nothing genius about it in my eyes. However some pieces are quite cute for example the Thrift (2) beige coat with the white fur and the shoes/boots in this autumn season. What is your favourite Topshop autumn trend?

Weekday Zeitgeist T-shirt

Every Friday, from 12:00 o'clock Weekday releases their Zeitgeist T-Shirts. Every week it is a different print. A print reflecting or illustrating important news from around the world. As every Weekday store got their own printing studio they can create a new print and have the newest design in every store in every country already the day after. This weeks print it is dedicated to the "evil cucumbers" which were supposed to be the reason for the EHEC bacteria. Cute, clever and ironic as we probably have to blame the evil soybeans now.

Perfect shoes: Flatforms

Everyone knows it. Its summer, its hot (not in UK but hopefully in Germany when I go). You need the perfect summer shoe. Something you can wear when you go to the beach, shopping and to parties. Basically for everything! As I'm rather small I also tend to wear heels but I never found the right ones. Wedges seemed the solution first but they are normally a bit too high to last hours shopping in. Now my hope lays in FLATFORMS. They are comfy, fashionable and all over the highstreet at the moment. Here is a little selection of my favourite ones.

1. Office 2. New Look (Teenager, up to size 5) 3. Office 4. Clarks 5. Topshop 6. Aldo 7. Next 8. Monki

Tonight The Pierces at Rescue Rooms Nottingham

EXCITED! Tonight I have finally the chance to see my favourite band The Pierces live! They are touring through UK at the moment to promote their new album You & I, which is much more melancholic than their album before. Enjoy.

New found: Diksi

While reading through Bread & Butter's brand bible I came across the womens fashion brand Diksi. This brand name is an abbreviation of  'di que si', which is spanish and means 'say yes'. The message of Diksi is trying to convey to say yes to life, to style, to being different, to always moving on. I don't think the designs are especially different (especially not in the UK) but cute & nostalgic. The lookbook video is just perfect for Alice in Wonderland lovers like me and such who want to dive into the rabbit hole one day.

P.S. I'm sure you recognised the new design? I hope you like it. I tried to make my love to watercolour visible on my blog. Not sure about the white background though...too clean? Or just right?

Online found: American Archive

American Archive is a genius american Ebay shop selling vintage clothes. The 'Buy It Now' prices are a bit high but try to bid on items. My sister told me about it this morning and since then I can't stop browsing through their stuff. Here's a little collection of my favourite pieces and my 3 trends for this summer season. Although I've to admit that I stick to these trends for years already. Not much has changed. I'm a boho girl but vary it depending on my mood.

BOOM: Vans X Hermes

Vintage Hermés silk carrés and Vans

I'm in looove with these vans and I'm pretty sure you too. Unfortunately I have to answer the question: 'WHERE CAN I BUY THESE?!' With: Nowhere!
Stylist Robert Verdi is lucky and famous enough to get these beautiful hermes slip ons designed exclusively for him! I really really really wish I could buy one pair (I don't even care which one as they are all amazing!) and hope that genius thai people will bring out some cheeky copies...

Obsession: Mother of Pearl

For years I'm already obsessed with mother of pearl things. The always changing shimmering shades of violet, pink and blue are fascinating. From watercolours to mother of pearl. I seem to like everything dreamy, floaty and in soft colours. I wish my blog could reflect this a bit more, but I seem to be unable creating a header I like. My newest mother of pearl found is a ring from the vintage fair at dot2dot. I hardly ever wear rings but I seem to wear this one nearly every day now!

This month's playlist is full of relaxing indie songs and electro-pop tunes. Just perfect for barbecues and pre-drinks in the sun. The 15 mins I saw of Naked & Famous at Dot2Dot proofed that theses kiwis are amazing and can stay another month on my playlist. Enjoy.
